Credit Card Act of 2009

Changes are being made to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements imposed by the “Credit Card Act of 2009” and a recently promulgated rule of the Federal Reserve. This change affects your Allegius Credit Union open-ended loan(s). Although you may not specifically have an Allegius credit card, these changes apply to your other open-ended credit agreements which include overdraft accounts, personal lines of credit, and Home Equity lines of credit.

These changes pertain to statement delivery and subsequent payment due dates. Allegius Credit Union must provide members at least 21 days from the statement mailing date to the payment due date. As of September 4, 2009, and with each subsequent monthly statement date thereafter, your loan payment due date will be modified and fixed as the 28th day of the month after the statement date. For example, if your current due date is Sept. 22, 2009, your new due date will be advanced to Sept. 28, 2009. If your current due date is the 29th through the 31st, no changes will be made.

If your loan is set up for the conveniences of a weekly, bi-weekly or semi-monthly payments, you may continue to make multiple loan payments during the month. However, your monthly statement will reflect a next due date of the 28th of the month following your statement date.

Your loan will be considered delinquent 15 days after the due date.

If in the past you received quarterly statements, effective September 4, 2009, you will begin receiving a monthly statement.
