A new kind of identity theft scam, called "Vishing", has surfaced.
Related to phishing scams, this new kind of identity theft scam works like this: thieves use easy-to-obtain VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) telephone numbers to trick Internet or telephone users. Since members have been warned about clicking on hyperlinks in unsolicited e-mail, the new scam includes a phone number instead.
Always keep in mind - we will not initiate any contact with you to request personal account information.
If you are in doubt about a phone number, call the phone number on the back of your account statement, credit or debit card, or from a phone book. From there you'll be directed to a representative that can help you.
