What Is Shared Branching?

Shared Branching is a nationwide network of credit unions that work together to give members convenient access to their accounts—no matter where they are. Through this partnership, members can walk into more than 5,000 participating branches across the U.S. and take care of many of the same transactions they would as if they were at an Allegius branch. You can even do Shared Branching in the drive-up. 

What Can You Do at a Shared Branch?

When you visit a Shared Branch, you can:

• Make deposits and withdrawals
• Transfer money between accounts
• Make loan payments
• Get balance information

When visiting a Shared Branch you will need to fill out a transaction slip with your SSN and phone number and will need your credit union account number and a valid photo ID.

Why Is Shared Branching Useful?

• Traveling? Whether you’re on vacation or visiting family out of state, you can still access your account in-person.
• Students and movers: You don’t have to leave your credit union behind if you or your kids are away at college or if you have relocated to a new city.
